I hadn't read or written any poetry for a nearly a year. I just felt flat and uninspired when it came to poetry. But, after recently reading T.S Eliot's Four Quartets, my interest in poetry is coming back.  He's style is so beautiful and brilliant. I love how combines many different kinds of thought into his works. And I also love how he says so many profound and inspiring things without it ever coming of as clichéd or heavy-handed.

This is one of my favourite lines:

Last season's fruit is eaten And the fullfed beast shall kick the empty pail.
For last year's words belong to last year's language
And next year's words await another voice.

It reminds me not to dwell on the mistakes and difficulties of last year, and focus on making the most of this year.
Now I've been thinking up new ideas and I will start writing poetry again soon!
