Mar. 27th, 2013 07:28 pm So I've been reading Howl's Moving Castle, and it's awesome so far. I'm reading in preparation for an essay I'm writing for uni. I'm writing about how the fantasy genre in YA fiction uses the idea of fate, and the implications of that idea in society. I'm also writing on two other novels for the essay, that unlike HMC, demonstrate this idea in a forthright manner, meaning they have a white and/or male "chosen one," destined to do great things. I'm getting through it quite fast. It's a fairly light read. Sophie is an amazing character. While I loved the movie, I feel she's written with more depth and sass.
