NaNoWriMo

I registered to in NaNoWriMo a week ago! This is going to be my first year trying it. I'm a perfectionist who feels an overwhelming need to check and recheck everything I write, instead of just getting everything down and proofreading later. It's because of my chronic anxiety, and the fact I have this deep-set fear that people will judge me for mistakes, even though logically, I know they wouldn't. And, I just need to keep reminding myself that nothing comes out flawless the first time. I'm trying to just practice writing everyday so I can overcome this.

I at least want to  try finally getting the ideas I've had in my head for a fantasy narrative, and the brief plans I've written out, into a novel next month. I think it will at least be a step forward. So, I'm feeling incredibly nervous and excited at the same time about doing this. I'd love to know if other people are participating this year, so I can follow what you're writing, or if you participated in previous years, and what your experiences were like with that.

I'm participating! TigerKat24. If you look at my author page you will note that I've done NaNo beeeellions of times before. It's honestly not super-scary, everyone on the forums is incredibly nice, and no one will judge your novel unless you specifically ask them to. Everyone's in the same boat re: terribleness. It's just a first draft, and that's all it needs to be.
