elle_whiteI finally got to see Megamind! While my expectations of this film were high, it ... surpassed them?
I laughed at pretty much all the jokes and I found the humour wasn't silly or overdone in the least. It was very cleverly done.
You know, I absolutely love stories that play around with tropes and the message is, ultimately , screw destinyAnd the movie used the typical superhero set-up for it! God damn, this movie was great!
It's also one of the few movies I've seen that takes down the whole Nice Guy Syndrome. Hal is a creepy asshole and that's how the movie treats him!
Roxanne Richi was amazing! I loved her strength and the sureness of her own identity. She was really the only character who knew who she was. The way Roxanne and Megamind relationship developed was so, so good. Megamind lied to Roxanne and there were actual consequences to that?! I mean, I heard the movie was going to handle the issues it brings really well, but actually seeing play out in the movie theatre was another things altogether. I am so, so incredibly impressed by this film!
My favourite part of the whole movie was when Roxanne turned off Megamind's disguise. That was just wonderful and sweet!
I also have an insane amount of love for Minion!
So I have a ridiculous love for this movie and it was definitely worth the long wait.
