 So, I'm writing a YA fantasy novel in the fantasy genre. Basically it’s about a young swordswoman who goes on a quest to save her fiancé from this mysterious curse that infected him. Yeah, I like my gender role reversals. It’s believed that witch enchanted a magical beast to spread a curse. On her quest, she runs into and befriends a woman who studies magical creatures, and believes there’s more to it than a witches enchantment. The two of them go on a journey to unravel the mystery, and along the way, they realise maybe they like other girls more. All this happens while trying to stop the white, privileged knight, thought of as a hero by the people, from getting to “the beast” so he can kill it for his own ego. I’ll post some of it when I’ve done more, because I would like feedback, and for people to tell me about anything problematic with the story. 

EDIT: Here's a bit more info: It takes place in a kingdom called Vanesia. The dragons migrate every winter to an island filled with caves. When they leave for the Island, it's a sign that winter is coming, so farmers harvest crops at this time in preparation for the winter. The people from rural areas hold a festival at this time, called the Dragon Festival, where they sell goods from their farm, so the dragons are good on an economic level. So when winter comes and the dragons are still around, problems start to happen. It's around this time the mysterious cursed beast start roaming around. Some say it's been enchanted by witches, and have used it as an excuse to go on a witch hunt. However, the woman who studies dragons and other magical creatures thinks there's more to it than that. She believes the dragons’ strange behaviour and the curse are somehow connected. 

The swordwoman, who’s nobility, knows the knight who’s after also after the cursed beast. The knight is now convinced that it is an enchanted (that’s slowly becoming the common belief) and heads after it and assures everyone he'll slay it. But the swordswoman thinks if it is a dragon, then the answers, or at least more clues, would be found at the dragons’ abandoned winter home. So, these two ladies of Romanian heritage meet and team up to figure what’s happening. And they go on this journey together.
