This morning, I had a panic attack for the first time in month's. My nerves are still a bit shaky.

So, I'm going to rant about stuff I've read on Tumblr about Revolutionary Girl Utena to help take my mind of it.I legitimately don't get it when people call the Black Rose Arc filler. Mikage and the ending of his plot line, draws parallels with Utena and her plot line. It works wonderfully  on a thematic level. And there are many things essential to later developments going on. Juri's sub-plot is furthered with Shiori's return to Ohtori. We get more information about Miki and Kozue's relationship. But most importantly, Akio is introduced! He first shows during the recap episode of the first arc, but we aren't properly introduced to him until the next episode.  We learn about Akio and his relationship to Anthy throughout this arc. There's so much subtle, yet important build up in this arc. Seriously, how awkward and rushed would it feel if the show went to the Akio Car Seduction Arc right after we're introduced to him? It just wouldn't work with the story as the whole. RGU takes its time developing the characters, because they are at the centre of the plot. You remove something like the Black Rose Arc, and it would be detrimental to the story as a whole.

I guess people would call the Black Rose arc filler because of the way it ended and how no one in the show can clearly remember any of it, but that would require ignoring all the important character development and groundwork being laid by it, so people are just being dumb and not getting it.
